The Deregister? status flags a Subscription for review after a name change is detected between your Contact data and the Subscription, usually following a property ownership change or a data update.
A Deregister? flag does not automatically cancel the Subscription. It's a review step. A flagged Subscription may be kept active, for example where the customer has simply changed their name and is still entitled to receive documents, or deregistered where the change reflects a genuine ownership change. While a Subscription stays in the Deregister? state, Payreq pauses delivery to it, so no new Mail is sent until you review it.
Why a Subscription is flagged Deregister?
A Subscription is flagged Deregister? when:
- The name on the Contact record changes, for example after a property sale, title transfer, or name correction.
- Payreq detects that the Subscription no longer matches the Contact data it was originally linked to.
This most often happens when a property changes hands, so the previous owner's digital Subscription may no longer belong to the current owner. For the broader picture of how Contact updates flow through to Subscriptions, see How Contact changes affect Subscriptions.

Reviewing a Deregister? Subscription
Open the Deregister? view, review each flagged Subscription against your records, and decide:
- Keep it active: if the change is a simple name change and the same customer is still entitled to receive documents, for example a minor name correction or a change of name after marriage, approve the Subscription so it stays active.
- Deregister it: if the change reflects a genuine ownership or contact change, for example a new property owner, deregister the Subscription. For the deregistration steps and reasons, see Deregistering Subscriptions.

Reviewing flagged Subscriptions promptly avoids delivery being paused longer than necessary.
